One of Frodsham's oldest pubs, the Helter Skelter has taken many forms over the years including name changes and interior overhauls. The latest incarnation of this free-house is down to the Broome family who have created a warm, friendly atmosphere and comfortable surroundings. The main features of this pub are the 6 real ale pumps dispensing ever changing British bitters and the restaurant upstairs, though you can eat in the bar if you wish. It's a small pub that can seem very full with a few people in it, but this adds to the ambience. Definitely worth a look in.

Update - After numerous trips to the Helter Skelter late in the afternoon, I've found after a few tasty real ales I keep forgetting to return home and cook the tea. As a result I've found myself ordering their homemade 'Steak and Ale Pie' served with Chips and Peas from the bar. Very delicious, highly recommended and a perfect way to end a working day.

Facilities

You can smoke outside in the rain!

There is no wheelchair access but you could get in using the side door. However, once you're in there you wouldn't be able to go to the bar or use the loo as this involves negotiating steps!

No baby changing facilities, but there are high chairs for use in the restaurant and the owners are very family-friendly.
